Sketch Thursday TONIGHT
Continental, 2801 W Chicago AvenueThursday, January 14th
6:00-8 pmThis is the fourth Sketch Thursday event
West Town’s vibrant art scene takes center stage in January with the fourth installment of Sketch Thursdays, exciting nights of live art-making open to public participation. The New Year’s inaugural Sketch Thursday will take place at Continental Lounge (2801 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL 60622) on January 14th from 6 pm to 8 pm.Sketch Thursdays occur every second Thursday of each month at various West Town locations and feature local emerging artists creating art throughout the night, and then offering those works for sale at affordable prices.
Organized by the West Town Chicago Chamber of Commerce, Sketch Thursdays not only expose people to an exciting, up-and-coming stretch of West Chicago Avenue, they also present fun and unique opportunities for aspiring artists. Anyone is welcomed to bring their pens, pencils, paper or paint and get creative (see contact info below if interested in participating); however space is limited as there is an invited panel who have reserved seats each month. Geared towards artists, art enthusiasts, and collectors alike, Sketch Thursdays are the perfect occasions to create, or buy, original artwork, meet amazing artists, or have a complimentary refreshment (or two) while enjoying artists perform their craft. All art created on the spot is posted on the wall and on-sale until close.
Admission to Sketch Thursdays is FREE, however attendees must be 21 and over. For more information, for a schedule of dates and venues, or to submit your name as a participating artist, please contact Matthew Westfallen, SSA #29 Program Manager, at (312) 850-9390 or Matthew@westtownchamber.org. Also, Sketch Thursdays can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sketchthursdays.
